The "Ah-Ha" Moment

Yep, it happens. Maybe not exactly how the television commercial for life insurance tells you it will but it does. For me it had been building slowly for a while. Watching friends and neighbors dealing with the financial stress of losing their lively hoods, only to discover they did not know what they were truly passionate about. I knew I was passionate about knitting and animals. My love for the fiber farm was only a matter or time. Now I was struggling to find a balance. Balance between, your passionate for work; and passionate for my family. City and rural lifestyles. Wanting more but not knowing how to take the first step. I would have to figure it out along the way. I did know one thing. Life was good...but it could be better.

The diet is the first thing. Having thrown up the past three meals (all take out ) I just can't do it any more. A ran into an old friend this week, who looked fabulous. We started discussing her diet. Although it seems fairly simple I know enough about myself to know it's not going to be easily.

Basically, she eats limited amounts of fruit. All the veggies she wants and her protein comes from seafood. She said she would eat eggs and cheese but that she was doing fine on the seafood. No starches. With further discussion I learned that she had reached the same point I had with my edible consumption. She was not above a piece of chicken now and then but wanted to know that the chicken had been raised on quality feeds. Lived a good life and was handled property. But this is relatively hard to ensure in NYC. Or if you can find it it's so expensive she had just opted to do without. And let me tell you it was working for her. That she said had given her more encouragement to start working out. Something I too needed. So that's what this blog is about.

Getting it together, sharing my thoughts, goals and sometimes an occasional dream. I think I will develop my top 10. Stay tuned.
